Additionally, if there is more than one way to provide religious accommodation to an employee, the employer may choose which route to take. Undue hardships can include but are not limited to impairing workplace safety and reducing efficiency in other jobs.Īn employer may grant religious accommodation to some employees but may deny it to others, depending on the "specific factual context" and assessment of undue hardships in each case. The EEOC advises businesses to "rely on objective information" and not on speculative hardships. Undue HardshipĮmployers are permitted to reject a request for an exemption if they can show the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the business. Title VII does not protect "social, political, or economic views, or personal preferences" and so an exemption cannot be sought on that basis. However, the EEOC highlights the fact that beliefs can change over time, as can the degree of adherence to a belief, and therefore the employer "should not assume that an employee is insincere simply because some of the employee's practices deviate from the commonly followed tenets of the employee's religion, or because the employee adheres to some common practices but not others." The EEOC notes that the "sincerity of an employee's stated religious beliefs also is not usually in dispute" but it can be called into question based on factors including past behavior inconsistent with the stated beliefs or if the timing of the request makes it suspect. Employers cannot assume a request is invalid because the religious beliefs in question are unfamiliar to them. Nontraditional beliefs are protected but employers may make inquiries about the nature of employees' beliefs. Protected BeliefsĮmployees should also not assume that employers are familiar with their particular religious beliefs. If the person seeking an exemption does not cooperate with that inquiry, they risk losing any later claim that their employer denied them accommodation improperly. "As a best practice, an employer should provide employees and applicants with information about whom to contact, and the procedures (if any) to use, to request a religious accommodation," the EEOC says.Įmployers should generally assume that a request for a religious exemption is based on sincerely held beliefs but they are permitted to make "a limited factual inquiry" and seek "additional supporting information."

I've exported the standard ones we include and attached them if you would like to import them into your database. We did include some "standard" lasers in the tool database, these were based on our own usage on test machines, but if you have migrated an existing tool datbase they may not be included. We filter posts by whether or not there is anything in the My_PostP, and then we also apply a laser-specifc filter. There are two levels of filtering on the laser post-processors and almost certainly this is causing the issue.

On Windows 10, you can click the battery icon in the notification area and click the brightness tile that appears. This is especially helpful if your keyboard doesn’t have these keys, or if you’re using a tablet and you have to do it within software. You can also adjust the display brightness from within Windows as well. These are often function keys, which means you may have to press and hold the Fn key on your keyboard, often located near the bottom-left corner of your keyboard, while you press them. To adjust the screen brightness, look for an icon that corresponds to brightness–often a sun logo or something similar–and press the keys. Often, these keys are part of the row of F-keys–that’s F1 through F12–that appear above the number row on your keyboard. On most laptop keyboards, you’ll find shortcut keys that allow you to quickly increase and decrease your brightness. After four hits, he will die and drop the first gem. He can't be hit in this situation so jump over him and wait until he stops and throws three new leaves to attack him. He will now spin and move back and forth for a while. Jump over the projectiles and use your butt attack to hurt him. Go down the ladder, duck to avoid the bee, throw a rock at the caterpillar then the apple at the second one and carry on to face the boss of that level. Now, open the last chest, go west, leap over the gap, release the brown rolling ball, go back to the last platform and carry on to the left. Now, climb down the ladder, go right, use your butt attack to make a chest appear, don't open it and use it to find another alcove with two chests. Before going down once more, go grab the goodies to the right. Use the pot with a «M» written on it to step on the ledge further, grab the goodies and break the two rocks in the pit to the right to go through the floor and reach the lower part of the level. The shortcut can only be used from this spot. The first ladder leads to a shortcut and three chests containing a piece of cake, a small coin and a big cake. Now this is where you can choose between two paths. Use your attack to the right when you're in the pit to make two secret chests appear, each of the chests has a big coin. Kill the first enemy, leap over the gap, blast the rocks to get the chest containing a piece of cake and go to the far east to find more chests. Let's start with the first level from the left. The first levels are the woods, toys land and candies land. Like I said during the introduction, the Sega Master System version allows you to choose the level you want. pause the game! (yeah for obviousness! ). Otherwise, the controls are simple: 2 is for jump, 1 is for your butt attack in mid-air (and you can grab items) and the direction pad for the movements. Some bosses can only be hit with the second attack but we shall see that in due time. At some points you'll be able to use items like apple, orbs. If you want to hit an enemy, you must jump over it and land with your butt by pressing button 1. There's a few things to know about the game. This is where it begins and you can control Mickey. Then, you enter the castle and notices three doors. He mentions seven gems of the rainbow kept by the masters of illusion. An old man talks to Mickey at the entrance of the castle. That's it, you don't face the witch at the end of the practice mode. The normal mode will allow you to play the full game, including the final boss. In the practice mode, you'll explore the three first levels and end the game afterwards. The difference between these two modes is the number of gems you'll collect to finish the game. You can choose between practice mode and normal mode. So, Minnie has been kidnapped by a witch because Minnie is too lovely and bla bla bla, let's skip the story. Welcome to Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse, folks. Anyway, time to start this walkthrough, that's enough story I guess. I do believe there's some differences between the versions so I don't recommend to use this walkthrough for the Sega Genesis version. So that's why I'm going to play the Sega Master System instead. But the only thing I hate with the Sega Genesis version is the fact that you can't choose the levels compared to the original version. Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse also has a Sega Genesis with better graphics (that makes sense). Yeah, Donald was not the only one who had a game released for Sega Master System. So here we are, with a Disney game called Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse. Well, I wanted to replay that game for ages and make the walkthrough. So if some people are asking me why it's a short walkthrough this time, you now have the answer to your question. The main reason why it's a short walkthrough is because I worked during the holidays and couldn't start it before. For starters, it'll be a short walkthrough of a game I used to play when I was a kid. At the very end of the game you must defeat the witch Mizrabel to get Minnie back.Hello, hello everyone! Laian here with a new walkthrough. Each level is completely different from the next and requires different abilities. a dragon, a toy clown, or a totem pole of jumping goblins. At the end of each level you must defeat something. there are many evils to overcome such as bonefish, toy soliders, bookworms, knights, trees and mushrooms, and bats. I bought this game because I played it when I was little and it was and still is my absolute favorite game of all time for sega genesis! I think it is so great that I had to go out and purchase a sega genesis along with this game just so I could play it again! I would without a doubt buy this game again! I love the different levels and how each one has its own unique challenges. It was a very convincing proof of concept. I broke into Layerpaint and installed a shared memory interface so that Viewpaint could use Layerpaint as its 2D paint program, and then send paint information back and forth through this piece of shared memory. Layerpaint had been written there at ILM and we had the source code to it. Now, of course, that’s all built into Photoshop and it’s all old-hat, but Layerpaint was the first program I ever saw do this. It was one of the very first programs to do this. Layerpaint was a 2D or a two-and-a-half-D paint system that let you paint on one layer, and then have that pull paint from another layer. We had an in-house piece of software called Layerpaint at ILM, which I think was created by Doug Smythe. I just started doing some experiments, and I put together the first prototype implementation of Viewpaint. John Schlag: So I spent a couple of months doing a prototype implementation. Basically, the idea was, ‘Hey, we can render these pretty dense meshes and then be able to take whatever you’re painting and freeze it.’ Like, we can delete that leg temporarily, and just get rid of its visibility.’ So that was the kernel of the idea. I was thinking, ‘Wow, Jean has to go through all sorts crazy things because there’s like this leg in the way and it’s occluding where she wants to carry this texture, and we don’t have to. It was about being able to change some of the surfaces while you were doing the painting. What she did was a combination of sort of sculpting and painting at the same time for this one project, which we didn’t get to in the original Viewpaint, but we got in subsequent versions. Her name was Jean Bolte and she had been painting a tiger for a commercial. The other thing was, I’d had this experience with someone from ILM’s creature shop. You could stretch things in the texture map that you were projecting, but it was kind of painful. It worked particularly well if you had, like, a projection onto a surface that was from the angle you were projecting relatively planar, so you didn’t get too much in distortions. It was great for the shots we had in T2, but obviously it wasn’t that interactive in editing. The first thing was a tool we developed internally during Terminator 2 called Make Sticky, which basically projected images through a sort of pre-rendered buffer onto polygons and patched vertices as a way of texture mapping the surfaces. Tom Williams (supervisor of software and digital technology): There were two or three things I’d been thinking about before Viewpaint came to be. And Tom said, ‘Do you think we could do something like that in production?’ A page from the Pat Hanrahan and Paul Haeberli paper. It was the first real demonstration of a 3D paint system. It was by Pat Hanrahan and Paul Haeberli (‘ Direct WYSIWYG painting and texturing on 3D shapes,’ Computer Graphics, Volume 24, Number 4, August 1990). Anyway, I was working away on Death Becomes Her, and Tom Williams, who was then the manager of the new software department, he and I were chatting and he said, ‘You know, there was this cool paper at SIGGRAPH 1990. We had to do a very painstaking matchmove of the body, the neck and the head to get each of those shots to fly. I had written a 2D matchmove programme called MM2 that later evolved into Repo. We used Death Becomes Her to test a number of things that we were planning to do on Jurassic Park. John Schlag (computer graphics artist): After Terminator 2 and before Jurassic Park, we were working on Death Becomes Her. On the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park, vfxblog goes back in time with several of the original creators and users of Viewpaint, a tool that would be used at ILM for many years, and for which its developers – John Schlag, Brian Knep, Zoran Kacic-Alesic and Tom Williams, received a Sci-Tech award in 1997. That’s how audiences got to see incredibly detailed dinosaur skin. Then, Viewpaint would map the painted pixels of that still image back into the appropriate pixels in the texture map, and render the model. It allowed artists to create an image that was a snapshot of a texture-mapped model that could be exported to an image-editing program to paint or modify the texture. But along the way, ILM made several other stunning tech breakthroughs for the 1993 film.Īmong them was the continued development of a 3D texturing tool called Viewpaint. It was a seminal moment in visual effects history. Most people will have heard about the Industrial Light & Magic animation test that convinced Steven Spielberg to adopt computer graphics for the full-motion dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. So then we thought, ‘Oh, shit.’ – John Schlag, computer graphics artist, Jurassic Park rex head is in your face and filling the frame, and eating a raptor or fighting.
